Transport Operations Manager

Operations Manager (Logistics) £50,000 - £55,000 + Progression + Benefits Newry Are you an experienced Transport or Operations Manager looking for the next step in your career? Do you have a background in transport operations and want to make an impact in a well-established and growing business? Overseeing a team of transport planners, as Operations Manager you will be working closely with the senior leadership team to increase efficiencies whilst upholding a high standard of customer service. Your new company operate a fleet of HGV vehicles throughout the UK & Ireland and you will have lead the operations team, whilst developing staff, processes and service offerings. If you enjoy a challenge, have a good understanding of road transport, WTD and EU legislation and excel in a constantly challenging environment, this is a great opportunity to join a growing transport firm, that will develop their staff into progressive opportunities moving forward. The Role Oversee the daily planning schedule and routing for vehicles. Accommodate additional customer orders efficiently on a daily basis. Manage compliance across both drivers and vehicles Liaise with the maintenance team in managing vehicle maintenance schedules. Work closely with senior management to identify and implement operational efficiencies. Handle escalated Customer Complaints & implement resolutions Accident Investigation & Disciplinaries Seek continuous improvement in Transport & WH operations Driver Recruitment & Performance Management You will need: Previous experience in an Operations/Transport Management role Strong knowledge of EU Tachograph Laws & WTD Excellent customer service skills to deal with customers, drivers and third parties. Excellent communicator and can work in a fast-paced environment Good geographical knowledge of UK & Ireland What's in it for you?
