Transport Planner fixed term contract

Major Recruitment are recruiting Transport Planner/Transport Administrator for a client in Middlesbrough. Candidates will be working in a busy transport department working alongside existing team members to deliver an outstanding service to customers.

Applicants will be required to:

\n

\n
• Plan trucks to meet delivery/collection times.
\n
• Co-ordinate inbound/outbound traffic.
\n
• Ensure customers queries are dealt with.
\n
• Manage driver queries.
\n
• Manage vehicle allocation/breakdowns.
\n
• Maintain out of hours contact
\n
• Advise rates as required for multidrop and resolve rate issues
\n
• Liaise with customer services regarding missing references/late runners/demurrage
\n
• Source empties for Exports and return depots for Imports
\n

\n

Requirements:

\n

\n
• Experience within the Transport industry preferred
\n
• Ability to work under pressure
\n
• Able to work as part of team and on own initiative
\n
• Good communicator
\n
• Professional and confident telephone manner
\n
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
\n
• Excellent attention to detail
\n
• Flexibility to work out of hours when required
\n

\n

Hours of work and pay rates are:

\n

\n
• Monday to Friday.
\n
• Day shift
\n
• 40 hours per week.
\n
• up to £30 k per annum
\n
