Transport Planner

Our client is looking for an additional member of staff to join their growing team in a specialist division of their UK logistics operation. As such, this will be a hands-on and varied role where you will be involved in customer liaison as well as route planning of their vehicles around the UK. Key reponsibilities: Handling incoming enquiries from customers and processing their requests Planning routes for the drivers and ensuring optimal and cost effective solutions Maintaining accurate information on the computerised database Liaising with the drivers to arrange for servicing and repair of vehicles Recording detailed costs incurred and producing profit and loss reports The candidate: Logistics service provider experience essential coupled with a knowledge of planning routes in the UK Strong IT skills including exposure to specific transport systems Confident communication skills to liaise with a wide range of clients Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment using problem solving and organisational skills with an attention to detail On offer: A full time permanent office based position working Monday to Friday office hours.
