Description
The Transport Planner duties and responsibilities include
- Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
- Liaise and negotiate with subcontractors and customers.
- Arrange warehouse, catalogue goods, plan routes and process shipments.
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
- Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements.
Profile
A successful Transport Planner should have:
- Proven track record of working in a similar role within Transport, Logistics or Distribution
- Strong geographical knowledge
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software
- Lives within commutable distance from Bury St Edmunds
