Transport Planner - Manchester - Permanent Role

Silver Arrow Recruitment have an opportunity for a Transport Planner on general haulage with a reputable, innovative transport & logistics group based in Manchester.

Your Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday,
• Start times between 0600-#####, finish times between##########00
• 1-hour Unpaid Break

Your Pay PAYE

• £35,000 Per Annum

Your job:

• Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods
• Route optimisation
• Scheduling deliveries
• Managing driver assignments
• Ensuring efficient movement of cargo within the company's logistics network
• Seeking ways to minimise transportation costs by optimising routes and load utilisation
• Utilising specialised transport management systems to track shipments, manage driver schedules, and generate reports.
• Designing the most efficient routes for trucks based on factors like distance, traffic conditions, delivery deadlines, and vehicle capacity.

What we need from you:

• Strong geographical knowledge

• Proficiency in transport planning software
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Understanding of road transport regulations
• Experience in logistics or transport industry preferred

Perm Benefits:

• Holiday pay - 4 weeks plus bank holidays. Plus 1 day per year up to 5 extra days max.
