At Gregory Distribution Ltd, we have a vacancy for a Transport Operations Supervisor based at our Mitchell depot. This position will require you to supervise daily transport operations.
*The position of Transport Supervisor involves:*
* Assist the Depot Manager to manage and motivate the transport team to ensure that staff and assets are used effectively to attain maximum performance in terms of commercial contract efficiency, profit, and client service levels.
* Dealing with key contacts within our pallet network hub.
* Identifying peaks and troughs within the Business Area and identify areas of improvement.
* Meeting on a regular basis with the Depot Manager, Warehouse, and Transport Operatives to ensure these areas are operating as efficiently as possible.
* Continuous improvement, identifying and developing areas where we can add value to existing contracts.
* Assist in conducting annual PDR interviews with staff.
* Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety.
* Assist in establishing KPIs for the transportation department, tracking metrics, and reporting performance to senior management.
* Assist with compliance planning in line with company procedure.
* Attend customer reviews and produce required statistics for meetings.
* Direct assistance and support for breakdowns.
* Assist in leading and motivating the transportation team, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a positive work environment to achieve departmental goals.
* Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports.
*Essential skills required for Transport Supervisor:*
* Previous experience in planning and implementation of new contracts and operations.
* Have a good understanding of legal compliance, driver’s hours and WTD regulations.
* Track record of leading successful change.
* Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions.
* Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business.
* Ability to present to Senior stakeholders within the business and to external customers.
* Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* IT literate including MS Office.
*Desirable skills for Transport Supervisor:*
* CPC National and International qualified.
* IOSH Managing Safely.
