Job Description:



We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Supervisor to join our team at a leading transport and distribution company in Immingham. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient management of daily transport operations, supporting our drivers and transport teams, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Supervise day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.

  • Coordinate and manage the dispatch of vehicles, routes, and drivers.

  • Monitor vehicle availability, utilisation, and maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Ensure that all transport activities comply with current legislation, including tachograph, Working Time Directive (WTD), and driver hours regulations.

  • Liaise with internal departments and external customers to ensure service levels and delivery requirements are met.

  • Conduct regular driver briefings, performance reviews, and training to enhance efficiency and safety.

  • Oversee the completion and accuracy of transport documentation, including manifests, delivery notes, and compliance records.

  • Assist in managing breakdowns, vehicle servicing, and arranging MOTs to ensure the fleet is fully operational.

  • Support the transport manager in monitoring KPIs and ensuring continuous improvement within the department.



Skills & Experience Required:




  • Proven experience in a transport or logistics supervisory or management role.

  • Knowledge of road freight forwarding is advantageous.

  • Proven experience in a multidrop environment.�

  • Strong understanding of transport regulations, including O-Licence compliance and health and safety standards.

  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with drivers, planners, and customers.

  • Competency in route planning and scheduling software.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.



Qualifications:




  • A CPC qualification would be advantageous.

  • Multidrop experience is a must.�

  • Knowledge of road freight forwarding or international logistics is a plus.

  • Valid UK driving license.
