Tunnel SCL Engineering Supervisor

SCL Engineering Supervisor required to work for Principal Contractor JV on High Speed Rail London Tunnels Programme.
Contract - Inside IR35
Based North Acton/Old Oak Common
SCL Engineering Supervisor role brief:
Candidates for the SCL Engineer role must have a proven experience of large-scale civil engineering projects within the SCL construction.
The candidates for the SCL Engineer role must be knowledgeable of the SCL works and competent to agree construction processes, interpret records and observations during the course of the works and recognize and act appropriately if critical issues arise. Can provide 24/7 cover for critical works, primarily excavation and primary lining of the key SCL structures, and daytime cover for all SCL works.
• Record the works as they progress (validation & verification)
• Monitor the construction team’s implementation of the design and their application of the agreed / approved process – record all NCRs and closeout.
• Maintain records relating to the excavation sequence, progress and materials application
• Visually inspect the applied materials and keep records of reinforcement installation and the integrity of connections
• Confirm compliance with RESS and record all aspects of SCL cycle for feedback to the Senior SCL Engineer
• Prepare daily reports for issue to the Senior SCL Engineer, including reporting contractor’s excavation progress
• Visually inspecting applied sprayed concrete quality
Required qualifications, skills, behaviors and attributes
• Civil or Structural Engineering Qualification, minimum of an HNC/HND, preferably BEng or higher (MEng, MSc).
• CSCS Gold or White Card / SMSTS or SSSTS
• Thorough understanding and application of the CDM Regulations 2015.
• Team player
• Good communicator
• Relevant experience of SCL construction
• Appreciation of the practical application of interfacing with rail systems and others
