As a Programme Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll have the opportunity to manage the support and maintenance of the whole Type 23 Frigates for the Royal Navy.  Day-to-day, you’ll operate in platform support, managing both fleet time and upkeep activity, operating on behalf of the Platform Support Director and the Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Strategic Class Authority. Responsibilities include:Deliver Type 23 class availability aligned to programme requirements through timely completion of maintenance periods and in-service defect support.Deliver contracted Type 23 class responsibilities aligned to the Common Support Model (CSM) Surface Ship Support Alliance Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and associated business processes.Establish and maintain functional and effective working relationships and communication between Class Output Management (COM) Team, Waterfront Service Provider (WFSP) and DE&S stakeholders, to underpin successful programme delivery.Manage spend and forecasting against financial budgets, demonstrating control through monthly reporting on both contractual performance and in-year spend for the DE&S customer.Manage programme level risk though accurate identification and assessment, effective mitigation and clear reporting both within platform support and to the DE&S customer.Manage and develop the Type 23 COM Team, maintaining suitably qualified experienced personnel, resilience and diversity through effective leadershipThis role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard with possible travel to Bristol and Portsmouth as and when required due to business needs.Essential experience of the Programme Manager:Experience within the marine industry and working knowledge of through life ship support and / or the project management of ship supportStrong leadership and senior management experience Experience of contract management for the delivery of complex support projectsExperience in finance management and reportingComplex stakeholder management experience across all levels Qualifications for the Programme Manager:HND/HNC or Degree qualified in a relevant engineering, or project management function or time served experience APMP / PRINCE qualified or working towards or willingness to work towards as part of continuous professional developmentSecurity Clearance
