My client are expanding a team to include a talented UI/UX Designer who will play a key role in enhancing the product offerings. Job Summary: My client are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer with a strong background in creating intuitive web and mobile interfaces that display data in clear, engaging ways. The ideal candidate will excel in designing both interactive data capture forms and visually compelling data visualisations using graphs, charts, and other widgets. You will work closely with the core product, development, and analytics teams to design user experiences that simplify complex information through effective use of colour, typography, and visual hierarchy. Key Responsibilities: - Design Interactive Data Capture Interfaces: Create intuitive, user-friendly web and mobile forms that enhance data collection processes. - Data Visualization: Develop visually compelling data displays using graphs, charts, and other visual elements that simplify complex data. - Design Systems and Style Guides: Establish and maintain consistent design systems and component libraries to streamline the design process. - Wireframing and Prototyping: Create multi-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to communicate design ideas effectively to stakeholders. - Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and analysts to ensure designs meet technical and user requirements. - User Testing and Feedback: Conduct usability testing sessions to gather feedback and iterate on designs for optimal user experience. - Responsive and Adaptive Design: Ensure designs are responsive and adaptable across various devices, focusing on both web and mobile applications. - Creative Use of Colour and Typography: Utilize colour theory, typography, and layout principles to guide users through data-heavy interfaces clearly and attractively. - Innovate with Visual Elements: Experiment with new visual elements and interactive components to enhance user engagement and data interpretation. Required Qualifications: - Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, particularly with data-driven web and mobile applications. - Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing interactive data capture and data visualization projects, demonstrating your ability to present data in an engaging and intuitive manner. - Proficiency in Design Tools: Advanced skills in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar. - Strong Visual Design Skills: Expertise in colour theory, typography, visual hierarchy, and layout principles tailored for data-heavy applications. - Understanding of UX Principles: Solid grasp of UX principles, usability testing, and user-centred design methodologies. - Front-End Awareness: Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to ensure feasible and efficient design handoffs. - Data Visualization Tools: Experience designing with data visualization libraries or tools (e.g., D3.js, Tableau) is a plus. - Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to translate complex data and requirements into simple, effective user interfaces. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Analytics: Understanding of data analytics and how users interact with data to improve design decisions. - Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile or Lean UX environments. - Animation and Micro-Interactions: Knowledge of creating animations and micro-interactions to enhance user experience.
