Main Goals and Objectives:
As a Vendor Planner, your primary responsibilities will involve managing the delivery schedules for non-sequenced parts from external suppliers. You will ensure that the delivery schedule aligns with our production build plan and pre-series phases. Your role will also require effective communication with transport providers to optimise their operations across our global supplier network. You will be instrumental in expediting part deliveries, maintaining inventory budgets, and identifying risks related to parts availability while implementing corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Management: Ensure the validity and accuracy of external supplier schedules, aligning them with production programmes and inventory budgets.
  • Expediting Deliveries: Timely manage the expediting of parts from suppliers, ensuring availability meets production needs-delivering the right parts at the right quality and time.
  • Demand Management: Handle unplanned demand requests from various internal customers, ensuring timely delivery of parts to meet their needs.
  • Risk Identification: Proactively identify potential supply constraints and collaborate on preventative actions to mitigate risks.
  • Change Management: Managing the overall readiness, disposition and implementation of parts undergoing change.

Who You Are:
To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven experience working with external suppliers on parts delivery.
  • Strong partnership skills to identify and resolve supply chain and Bill of Material concerns.
  • Knowledge of quality standards (e.g., TS16949) and logistics requirements.
  • Familiarity with import and customs procedures post-Brexit is highly desirable.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on teamwork.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Solid understanding of supply chains, material planning processes and project timings.
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems, and competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage a number of suppliers with integrity and compliance.

What We Offer:
In addition to a competitive salary, our client offers a dynamic work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and a chance to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in the automotive sector.
