No Offer Description We are seeking exceptional academic colleagues who have research plans which will have a remarkable impact on the disciplines of Business and Law and drive the development of our nine Primary Research Groups, to join our Vice-Chancellor's Fellowship Scheme. As a Vice Chancellor s Fellow, you will have a permanent academic role, and for the first three years you will be supported to undertake independent and collaborative research, delivering an agreed research plan to make a significant contribution to the research profile of the University. ABOUT RESEARCH IN THE FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND LAW AT NORTHUMBRIA Northumbria University conducts internationally excellent and world-class research in multiple areas of business and law research, and we are looking for excellent people to join us. We are interested in making appointments across our nine distinctive Primary Research Groups across the Faculty. Newcastle Business School We are seeking to recruit outstanding colleagues, whose research expertise aligns with one of our five distinctive primary research groupings . Responsible Business Primary Research Group addresses the ways in which responsible business practices are embedded in organisations ,especially with respect to business ethics and corporate behaviour. We have been ranked in the World s top 50 by two published studies of research in Business Ethics. The Convening Research question for the group is: How can we embed responsibility in business practice? Entrepreneurship, Policy, Innovation and Creativity (EPIC) Primary Research Group formerly the Northumbria Centre for Innovation, Regional Transformation and Entrepreneurship (INCITE) is an acknowledged University Research Centre of Excellence. Researchers connected to the specialism come together to examine issues in entrepreneurship, innovation, and regional development. EPIC has a strong public policy focus considering how governments at all scales, but especially at a city and regional level, promote innovation and entrepreneurship in support of economic and social transformation. The Convening Research question for the EPIC Primary Research Group is How are innovation and entrepreneurship reshaping local and global economies? Public Policy and Management Primary Research Group is one of the largest groupings of scholars in the country. This grouping considers future ways of working within the public sector, and embraces public sector leadership, reform, partnerships and networks, comparison of different governance arrangements, public and social value, relational contracting, a systems approach to complex questions, the effectiveness of regional networks, and digital connectivity between public bodies and clients. The Convening Research Question for the group is: How can the public and civic sector embrace reform? Decision-Making: Analytics, Operations and Marketing Primary Research Group brings together researchers who specialise within the realms of business analytics, operations and supply chain management, and all aspects of marketing including digital, social and consumer marketing. A significant recent award for the group has been an Innovate UK funded Smart Award of £1.9 million in collaboration with NBT. The Convening Research Question for the group is: How can we improve organisational performance? People, Work and Organisation Primary Research Group stimulates research that explores from both a theoretical and practical perspective how we enable individuals to thrive and flourish in high-performing organisations, that are also great places to work. The research of the group is characterised by a commitment to organisational practices that promote inclusive and fair work, thereby influencing positive change in policy and practice. The Convening Research Question for the group is: How can we enable people to thrive and flourish in high-performing organisations that are also great places to work? In addition to these Business focused research groups, we also have a Cross Faculty Research Group that draws together colleagues across Law and Business engaged within Professional Learning and Management research. The Primary Research Question of the group is: How can research and innovation in Professional Learning and Management impact on policy and practice? ABOUT YOU To be considered for this prestigious opportunity you must demonstrate academic excellence, evidenced through your role in the production of internationally excellent and world-leading research outputs and have experience of winning grant funding (appropriate to discipline and career stage). In addition, you must demonstrate a clear research plan for the period of the Fellowship.
