Vice President, Operational ResilienceJob purposeAs a systemically important financial market utility, the operational resilience posture of CLS is inextricably tied to the wellbeing of the global financial infrastructure. While CLS enjoys a strong and demonstrable history of resilience of its platforms and operating environments, neither CLS nor the external environments remain static resulting in continued exposure to changing threats and vulnerabilities. At the heart of this is transparent, cross divisional governance and reporting, underpinned by detailed, accurate and timely management information. The function of business process mapping is foundational to the generation of this insight.CLS therefore has a requirement for a role to with the Operational Resilience team to own the development of business process mapping for the organisation along side the development and on-going management of information flows and processes to collate cross divisional management information to articulate the resilience health of the organisation.Essential Function / major duties and responsibilities of the jobStrategicThe successful candidate will be experienced in operational resilience within a GSIB or an FMI, with a focus on governance, risk management and reporting along with detailed experience of business process mapping initiatives, tooling and on-going maintenance.The candidate will partner and collaborate across the firm to grow the maturity of MI required by committees and senior forums on the resilience health of CLS to inform strategic decision making.Additionally, the candidate will be required to lead and support the development of business process mapping for the organisation, prioritised by critical external services, non-critical external services and internal enabling functions as well as supporting the development of the tooling strategy to enable MI to be generated.OperationalAs a member of the Operational Resilience team, the candidate will be continually engaged with the day to day operations of CLS Important Business Services, monitoring and understanding service performance and seeking to learn lessons from any issues or incidents to feed into the overall Resilience framework and plan.Participation at a working group level of change programs which may materially alter the resilience posture of the organization, influencing these to ensure risk is either mitigated or improvements made.Establish new and participate in existing forums to ensure the resilience health of the delivery of CLS’s products and services is clear, enabling strategic decision making for investment and risk management.LeadershipThe candidate will be required to lead change across the organization as CLS matures the operational resilience function. This will require strong analytical and influencing skills along with empathy and the ability to understand others and their positions.Experience / essential and desired for successful job performanceThe candidate shall have the following experience:A history of leading or providing significant support to the identification, generation and collation of data points from across a GSIB or FMI to enable Operational Resilience MI to be produced.An SME level of understanding of business process mapping for a GSIB or FMI from initial development through to on-going management and maintenance.Good understanding of FX products and services with knowledge of the required infrastructure and dependencies.Experience across technology, third party, facilities and people risk analysis and mitigation.Qualifications / certificationsRecognized qualifications in the following areas will be beneficial:Operational ResilienceBusiness AnalysisProject Management (e.g Prince / PMI / APM)Cyber Management (e.g. CISM)Knowledge, skills and abilities / competencies required for successful job performanceThe candidate will possess deep analytical skills in areas of business services and processes, understanding the relationship to underpinning resources (e.g. Technology, People, Facilities and Third Parties) and be able to assist the business in determining the importance of these services and processes both internally and across the markets. In addition to this, they will be:Be experienced in presenting structured analysis of prioritized risk statements Familiar with product and project lifecycles and business case development in support of risk mitigation.Comfortable in co-ordinating and chairing meetings at all levels of the organization, from low level working groups through to senior level steering meetings Success factors / ‘How’.
