Role – Visiting Project Manager (Construction)

Location – UK, with frequent Nationwide site visits

CDM Recruitment is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Visiting Project Manager to join our client, a leading main contractor specialising in cut and carve, new build, and fit-out projects across the UK. Our client is one of the UK’s most successful privately owned construction and development groups. They manage high-profile projects in the commercial, industrial, and retail sectors, and are committed to sustainability and community development.

The Visiting Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing 3-4 live construction projects nationally, with overnight stays to be expected while ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard, on time, and within budget.

Key Highlights of the Project Manager Role:

• Specialises in retail fit out


• Managing 3-4 projects nationally, with values ranging from £50k to £1 million


• Working with Blue Chip retail clients


• Regular travel during the week with over night stop overs

Key Responsibilities of the Visiting Project Manager:

• Conduct regular visits to construction sites to monitor progress, quality, and health and safety compliance


• Ensure that all Project Manager duties are fulfilled to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget


• Communicate regularly with Blue Chip clients, attend project meetings, and provide clear project updates


• Resolve any on-site issues and make key decisions to keep projects on track

The Ideal Project Manager Will Have:

• A minimum of five years' experience as a Project Manager in construction, working with a main contractor


• Strong experience in managing fit-out projects


• Solid knowledge of UK building regulations, materials, and construction methods


• SMSTS qualification (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)


• A full UK Driving license due to the extent of weekly travel
