Role: Visual NDT Technician
Location: Worcester
Duration: Rolling Contract
Rate: PAYE Hourly Equivalent �35,000-�40,000
Your profile
- Proven experience as a visual NDT technician or inspector
- Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardise equipment
- Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards
- Familiarity with video/borescopes for internal inspection
- Capable of providing necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees
- Minimum level 2 certification in ISO 9712 or EN4179 visual testing
- Confident in standard interpretation to ISO, and internal/customer standards
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience creating/approving visual inspection datacards
- Comfortable discussing visual inspection topics and supporting other functions with inspection needs
- Competent with IT systems (ERP, MS Office, basic CAD packages)
- Knowledge of castings/additive manufactured parts and machined parts (preferred)
Your responsibilities
- Plan and undertake visual NDT inspection in line with customer requirements
- Generate detailed and accurate reports on inspection findings
- Identify non-conforming parts
- Report quality issues through non-conformance management process
- Ensure all testing procedures comply with relevant requirements (general and part specific)
- Liase with customer source inspectors and engineering as the VT point of contact
- Ensure all inspection activities are completed with integrity, consistent good practise and to a high standard
- Conduct departmental 5S and TPM activities
- Support with final release inspection
- Support and advise other colleagues with inspection related queries
- Support QMS development
- Support with developing new inspection technologies and methodologies
- Identify opportunities for improvement with inspection methodology and develop effective solutions
