Happy Jobs NI is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Vocational IT Tutor to join a leading organisation that has been delivering high-quality vocational training in Northern Ireland for over 30 years.

About the Role:

As a Vocational IT Tutor, you will deliver NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications in IT, supporting learners to gain practical and theoretical skills essential for their career development. You will also occasionally deliver Essential Skills in IT at Levels 1 and 2, providing well-rounded support to learners. This role is ideally based in Mid-Ulster, with travel across Northern Ireland as required, so a full clean driving licence is essential.

We welcome applications from those who may not already be IT Tutors or teachers but are passionate about IT, mentoring, and teaching. Full support and training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications in IT, with occasional delivery of Essential Skills IT at Levels 1 and 2.
  • Supporting and mentoring learners throughout their training journey, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Conducting workplace assessments and providing feedback to learners and employers.
  • Actively participating in enrolment, monitoring, and assessment processes.
  • Creating individualised learning plans tailored to learners' needs and abilities.
  • Maintaining high standards of documentation, including assessment plans, reviews, and learner portfolios.
  • Ensuring compliance with organisational standards and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • A degree in IT or a relevant qualification, with IT comprising at least 50% of the subject studied.
  • Experience delivering NVQs or vocational qualifications in IT (desirable but not essential).
  • A strong passion for IT and mentoring others, with a willingness to develop teaching skills.
  • GCSE or equivalent (Grade A*-C) in English and Maths.
  • A full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across Northern Ireland.
  • Exceptional communication, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Strong IT proficiency, including the use of MS Office and e-learning platforms.
  • A teaching qualification (Level 4 Certificate in Teaching or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one. (desirable but not essential)
  • Achievement of an A1 Assessors Award or willingness to pursue this qualification (desirable).
