Job Title: Waking Night Residential Support Worker

Location: Havant, Hampshire

Salary: £13.00 - £14.50 Per Hour

Hours: 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM (Full-Time, Permanent, Every Other Weekend)

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Waking Night Residential Support Worker to join our team in Havant, Hampshire. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals dealing with self-harm and mental health challenges. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Continuous Support: Remain awake and vigilant throughout the night to offer support, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
  • Emotional Support: Offer empathy and understanding to residents dealing with mental health issues and self-harm, providing comfort and assistance as needed during the night.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies, providing immediate support and following protocols to ensure resident safety.
  • Monitoring: Regularly check on residents to ensure their safety, documenting any concerns or incidents accurately.
  • Bedtime Routines: Assist residents with their bedtime routines, ensuring these are person-centered and supportive of their needs.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with residents, colleagues, and any relevant out-of-hours services.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document all interactions, incidents, and care provided during your shift, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Professionalism: Answer phone calls professionally, take messages, and respond to any inquiries or requests during the night.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with mental health issues, particularly those with a history of self-harm, is required.
  • Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and crisis management skills. Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures, particularly in a residential care setting.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the role.
