22.5 hours per week.
Location: Northampton.
We are a sheltered housing Charity providing independent living Almshouse accommodation for elderly persons. We are seeking a part-time Warden to safeguard the welfare and independence of our residents and nurture the health and wellbeing of our Almshouse community. We are looking for a people-person, someone who is compassionate, self-motivated and attuned to the needs of the elderly.
The post provides an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit team and contribute directly to the success of the organisation. We will provide training and full professional support. You will have a genuine interest in making a positive contribution to the team and the wellbeing of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitoring the wellbeing of residents and ensure all residents have access to a wide range of social activities and encouraging their active participation in these.
* Reporting any issues with residents and the property to the Scheme Manager on a weekly basis.
* Responding to emergency calls when on duty immediately.
* Provide updates for the monthly news sheet for residents and Trustees
* Maintaining required documents, files and records.
* Being responsible for the security of the buildings, site and overseeing the resources and people to assist with this.
* Managing on site facilities, meeting rooms, keep them clean and tidy.
* Liaise with site supervisor, arranging any emergency repairs that are required for properties within permitted budgets.
* Managing a petty cash float.
* Providing refreshments (such as tea, coffee, light snacks) for required activities.
* Carrying out any other reasonable task as directed.
Person Specification:
* Ideally you should have a good understanding of warden’s responsibilities and be knowledgeable about safeguarding.
* Be able to demonstrate good IT, numeracy and literacy skills.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to build trust and rapport.
* Be able to work on their own initiative, as well as being a key part of a small team.
* Have direct experience of working with the elderly, preferably in a similar environment.
* Have a “can-do” attitude and be personally flexible.
