Our client seeks a highly organised and hands-on Warehouse and Logistics Manager to oversee their warehouse, 3rd party storage and logistics operation.  As Warehouse and Logistics Manager you will manage a small team of 6 staff and be responsible for the storage, handling, and distribution of inventory.  This will involve the kitting of products for daily pick up and distribution.  To succeed in this role, you will have good management skills, attention to detail, good knowledge of warehouse, distribution and logistics with a view of taking on more purchasing / supply chain responsibility in the future.  You will also be very hands-on, helping the team with more basic duties if holiday or sickness.

Main duties

  • Oversee all warehouse and logistics activities, including receiving, storing, inventory control, order fulfilment, and distribution.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Manage, train, and develop warehouse staff, allocating tasks and maintaining high levels of performance
  • Ensure a positive working environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Director to ensure stock levels meet demand.
  • Using warehouse management software to track inventory, manage orders, allocate stock and optimise use of warehouse and 3rd party storage site
  • Co-ordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Ensure warehouse layout is optimal and that warehouse operation is safe and secure.
  • Oversee the proper handling, packaging, and labelling of products for distribution.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding warehouse performance, inventory status, and any issues that arise.

Skills and Knowledge

  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics, including management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Well organised problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and warehouse management software.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items and work in physically demanding environments.
