Job Description


Position: Warehouse Operations Manager


Job Type: Permanent, Full time


Hours: 40-45 hours per week (Monday to Friday - no weekends)


Location: Coleshill


Salary – £40,000-£45,000 per year (dependent on experience) + performance bonus


The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring timely deliveries, accurate inventory management, and a safe and productive work environment for the team.


THE ROLE


Responsibilities:



  • Overseeing the end-to-end process of inventory control, including goods in, goods out, picking, loading and dispatching furniture items in a safe and efficient environment.

  • Oversee container and van loading and unloading operations, ensuring safe and efficient handling of furniture.

  • Lead and motivate a team of operatives to ensure performance meets expectation, to include daily briefings and communication/management of rotas including holidays/sicknesses, etc.

  • Overseeing the end-to-end reverse logistics operation – checking goods, completing paperwork, reporting damages and discrepancies and liaising with the Admin department.

  • Identifying and actioning efficient improvements to warehouse processes.

  • Implement and enforce health & safety procedures within the warehouse, ensuring daily, weekly and monthly statutory H&S inspections are completed, and staff are aware and compliant.

  • Ensure company warehouse assets are controlled and accounted for

  • Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and prevented.

  • Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements, utilising the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

  • Liaising with the Management team and other necessary departments such as the Transport Admin Office and Logistics, to ensure smooth fulfilment and distribution of orders.


THE PERSON


The successful candidate must have strong people management skills and a can-do attitude, along with the will and desire to succeed. They must have a basic understanding of WMS experience.


Skills:



  • Proven experience of 3+ years in Warehouse Management or in a similar supervisory role within a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to use technology for inventory management purposes.

  • Have a full understanding of manual handling requirements and H&S legislation.

  • Be hands-on and physically able, as there will be a degree of heavy lifting involved.

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to build and empower a team.

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to learn and implement new processes.
