Warehouse operative / Delivery Driver

Kenect Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse/Driver to work at one of our clients in Reading RG6. This role involves both warehouse duties and driving responsibilities, ensuring that goods are delivered safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Monday to Friday

Shift 06.30 - 15.30 & 08.30 - 17.30

Saturday 08.00 - 12.00 (Alternate)

The Role

Warehouse is the priority - Candidates will be working initially (approx. first 2 weeks) in warehouse to get to know the products etc - scanner use 90% of the time.

PPE - High vis and boots

Candidates will then start to deliver goods (easy ones first) sprinter vans - radius approx. and hour max in circumference from the depot (N Oxford, Whitney etc).

Drops - 34 runs per day - 18 in AM and same PM.

Open from 05:30 - 17.30

42 hour week.

Vans fully loaded and off you go.

This is temp to perm - Full time

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring timely transportation of goods to various locations.
• Perform warehouse tasks including receiving, sorting, and storing inventory.
• Assist in loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and inventory levels.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations while driving and working in the warehouse environment.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance needs.

Experience

• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is advantageous.
• Experience in a warehouse setting, including knowledge of inventory management systems, is beneficial.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) as required by the role.
• A valid driving licence with a clean driving record is essential; experience driving vans or similar vehicles is preferred.
• Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with team members and clients.
