Warehouse Operative

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by assisting with various tasks related to stock management, materials handling, and shipping and receiving. This position requires a proactive individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Duties

• Manage stock levels and ensure accurate inventory records are maintained.


• Operate warehouse management systems to track and manage inventory.


• Perform picking and packing of orders with attention to detail to ensure accuracy.


• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, including unloading lorries and checking incoming goods against delivery notes.


• Handle materials safely and efficiently, following all safety guidelines.


• Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on equipment as needed.


• Build pallets for storage or shipment as required.


• Operate forklifts safely to move products within the warehouse environment.

Skills

• Strong understanding of stock management principles and practices.


• Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues.


• Proficiency in picking and packing processes with a keen eye for detail.


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred, including AS400 experience.


• Competence in materials handling techniques to ensure safety and efficiency.


• Experience in shipping and receiving operations is beneficial.


• Ability to operate forklifts safely within the warehouse setting.


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Hours:

Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00
