At our Wakefield Hub, we are looking to recruit a Warehouse Shift Manager for our Newstrade Warehouse, to control our magazine distribution which covers the North of England and Scotland. Our team play an important role in supporting our business to deliver world-class service and time-critical newspapers & magazines daily to our 10,000+ retail customers located across England and Scotland.  Working closely with our Operations Manager, you will manage and motivate the Twilight Shift to champion a variety of continuous improvement initiatives ranging from operational compliance to standard operating procedures, and on shift, you will have oversight of a team of 70+ staff for whom you’ll be assisting in the being responsible for coaching, training, and motivating, and develop a culture of success.

Salalry: £33,500 + benafits

Shift: Twilight Shift.  Monday to Wednesday 13:30pm  -00:00am, Thursday, 13:00pm -22:00pm 

38.5 Hours per week

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Manage and motivate the team to meet customer timescales and improved productivity and maintain quality standards 

• Ensure team productivity targets are achieved 

• Provide ‘hand over report’ to Operations Manager

• Provide training to all staff to ensure they can undertake their duties effectively, efficiently, and safely

• Ensure all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety training

• Management of the end to end warehouse functions and processes 

• Keep the warehouse safe, clean, and tidy

WHAT YOU NEED

1. A minimum of 1 of years relevant working experience within a Distribution or Logistics environment. 

2. A proven track record of effective people management would be preferred

3. An experience of delivering expanding operational KPI’s

4. Experienced approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure

5. A common-sense approach to problem-solving

6. Computer literate 

7. Comfortable working to strict deadlines. Great communication skills
