Centric Talent are currently recruiting for a number of talented Warehouse Team Managers to join our clients team based at their state of the art, automated fulfilment centre in Corby.
Our client is a leading supply chain partner for British business and is trusted partner to many of the UK’s most recognisable brands and influential public bodies. They have the facilities to take care of all their customers’ supply chain needs and a range of outsourced and integrated supply chain solutions.
Based at their 528,000 sq. foot user facility they are looking to build a dynamic and strong team of shift managers who will be responsible for the day to day running of a fast-paced automated efulfilment warehouse.
We are looking for an experienced team managers with a demonstratable background in warehouse operations or similar.
Hours of Work & Salary
Salary: £40 k (DOE)
Any 5 over 7
6-month Fixed term contract
6am - 2pm/2pm-10pm

Warehouse Shift Manager – Role and Responsibilities
  • To manage the operation within your daily area of responsibility, managing a team of Warehouse Team Managers
  • Be responsible for achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI’s for the purpose of ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to our customers.
  • To manage and motivate the team by giving direction and leadership monitoring performance to ensure the site achieves high performance levels.
  • Proactively encourage a positive and constructive relationship with the Employee Forum and representatives
  • Ensure the site complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure any disciplinary action is carried out following company procedure and aim to resolve grievances on a day-to-day basis by leading by example.
  • Ensure the training plan is executed to deliver the volume & resource requirements.
  • Ensure development of direct reports and support their journey through the learning and development platforms.
  • Use the start of shift briefing to engage with the staff and discuss in detail any H&S issues, shift productivity, and focus points.
  • Lead the operational management team in creating succession plans for all relevant roles.
  • Ensure SOPs are in place for all activities & non-conformance is managed.
  • Identify new initiatives that enhance the operation & add profit/value, whilst identifying possible cost reduction initiatives.
  • Adherence to Site Health and Safety Practices such as the Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
  • Foster a culture where accountability & H&S are paramount across the operational teams.
  • Drive standards in accident/incident/near miss reporting & investigation through the Team Managers and their teams. Be accountable for all accident investigation.
  • Review risk assessments & SSOW as part of the H&S investigation process, delivering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Manage absence, sickness & holidays, conduct & performance in line with the company & site policies & procedures.
  • Ensure all legislative requirements relating to warehouse operations are fully complied with under the Health and Safety at Work regulations.
Essential Skills and Experience required. 
  • You must be able to demonstrate senior management experience in high volume, customer service driven operations.
  • You will have experience of working closely with customers and developing effective working relationships, ideally in a similar role. 
  • You must have the energy, determination, and commitment to operate in an environment where regular customer contact and scrutiny is the norm and effective customer communication is essential.
  • You will be inquisitive, innovative and deliver an exceptional service to the customer. Excellent commercial acumen – understand the dynamics of both ‘open/ closed book’ contracts & develops a profit centre approach & culture amongst the Account team that is focused on bottom line performance.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to influence at all levels.
  • Succeeds in building effective stakeholder relationships with the ability to influence management team’s thinking to deliver high performance through a culture of accountability and ownership.
  • Ability to build and manage a high performing team.
  • Understand key drivers to achieve high levels of employee engagement and uses these to deliver high performance.
  • The depot operates a night shift and weekend shifts therefore it is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work.
