Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: �35,000 - �38,000 per annum (DOE)
We are proud to be working a with a leading Food Manufacturer in the Chelmsford area, where an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor.
This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and hygienic storage and movement of stock within the Warehouse and Yard. The successful candidate will lead a team committed to delivering high-quality service.
Working Hours and Benefits:
Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (30-minute unpaid break)
One Saturday per month, typically the last Saturday, paid at an overtime rate
Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Supervisor:
Oversee accurate picking and loading of products and ensure data is entered correctly into the stock system
Supervise safe loading and unloading of vehicles in line with transport regulations
Manage goods-in processes, including recording of pallets and returned items in the system
Ensure vehicles are checked, cleaned, and maintained upon return to site
Maintain Health and Safety standards; perform regular racking inspections and enforce safe equipment operation
Support stock counts and maintain records for raw materials and finished goods
Prepare and manage delivery documentation
Report any shortages to the sales team or customers ahead of scheduled deliveries
Collaborate with the Materials Controller to coordinate movements of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
Manage a cross-functional team, handling performance, training, attendance, recruitment, and disciplinary processes
Supervise packing teams during the absence of the Packing and Planning Supervisor
The Ideal Warehouse Supervisor:
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role
Experience with computerised stock and inventory systems
Working Environment and Physical Requirements:
Work conducted in both Warehouse and Yard settings
Manual handling (lifting sacks up to 25 kg)
Use of stairs and ladders to access upper levels and platforms
Exposure to varying noise levels due to machinery
Forklift truck operation and shunter driving as part of daily duties
