Wayleave Warden – Ipswich (Contract) | Major Infrastructure Project

Location: Ipswich (Office-Based with Occasional Site Visits)
Contract Role
Start Date: ASAP
Sector: Utilities / Infrastructure / Power Transmission

About the Role

We’re working on behalf of a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor to source a Wayleave Warden for a nationally significant underground cabling project. This Ipswich-based position will support the coordination of land access, third-party consents, and stakeholder engagement—ensuring smooth delivery of works across key utility routes.

If you have a background in land access, wayleave negotiations, or liaison with local authorities and landowners, this is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile programme with long-term potential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Liaising with internal project teams and the client’s land rights specialists to coordinate site access

  • Engaging with landowners (Grantors), land agents, and local authorities to obtain necessary consents

  • Managing planning submissions and highway applications (e.g. road or footpath closures)

  • Keeping accurate photographic/video records of site condition before and after access

  • Communicating access restrictions or changes to project stakeholders in a timely manner

  • Maintaining grantor concern logs and ensuring all documentation is kept up to date

  • Supporting safety inspections and project inductions (office-based coordination with occasional site travel)

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Experience engaging with landowners, agents, or local authorities

  • Ability to manage access coordination in a dynamic project environment

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with utilities or infrastructure projects

  • Awareness of health, safety and environmental protocols

  • Knowledge of traffic management or planning legislation

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to support a landmark UK infrastructure project from a regional base in Ipswich, with limited travel and a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and coordination. You'll be part of a collaborative team on a contract basis, with the backing of a major infrastructure delivery partner.
