A manufacturing company in Swansea has an immediate position available for a Welding Engineer to join its experienced office engineering team. This rapidly expanding company manufactures bespoke machinery for British and foreign customers in the oil, gas and petro-chemical industries.
The candidate will be Directly Responsible to the Quality Manager for the effective implementation of the companies welding needs. Functional Responsibility to: Works Manager & Engineering Manager for day to day welding matters
Main Responsibilities:
Create and maintain weld procedures.
Organise weld procedure and welder qualifications.
Qualification of new welders to new and existing procedures.
Maintain welder qualification prolongation.
Review engineering designs for welding requirements.
Create/Review Weld Maps.
Select appropriate weld procedures for production.
Liaising directly with the client and internal departments with regards to welding engineering requirements.
Ensuring that all allocated work scopes are fully compliant with the ISO 3834-2 standard.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years experience as a Welding Engineer, preferably in a pressure equipment, manufacturing environment.
Qualified IWE(International Welding Engineer or EWE (European Welding Engineer) with a plan to attain IWE.
Experience of working with BS EN ISO 15614-1 & ISO 3834-2 standards.
Computer literate in Microsoft 365.
Desirable Qualifications:
Certified Welding Inspector CSWIP 3.1 or PCN welding Inspector Level 2.
Desirable Experience:
Experience working within an ASME S & U stamp quality system.
Ability to read and analyse 3.1 material certification.
