Welsh Teacher

Vetro Education are seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Welsh Teacher to work in a secondary school in the Newport Local Education Authority. The ideal Teacher will have a proven track record of teaching second-language learners in Key Stage 3 and 4.. The school has tasked Vetro to find a Welsh Teacher, who can hit the ground running and become a part of the Welsh department from the off.

The role itself is for 5 days per week, teaching Year 7, 8 and 9, as well as GCSE classes. This role is set to start in the September 2024, and set to run until the end of the academic year.

• Title: Welsh Teacher
• Pay: £157.66 per day minimum
• Location: Newport
• Hours: Full or Part time, Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Welsh Teacher

• Lead a classroom of learners - Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Preparing the classroom for lessons and plan schemes of work where required
• Deliver lessons in line with national curriculum
• Engage learners with both classroom and lab-based activities
• Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies

The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Welsh Teacher

• At least 1 year Welsh teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs)
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
• Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
• References covering the last two years (no gaps)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
