Winter Resilience Operatives at Aberdeen Airport are responsible for removing snow and ice from Airside areas during adverse weather over the Winter period.

Contract information

As a Winter Resilience Plant Operative, you will be required to:


  • Attend 1 day training at the start of the season (Mid-End October)
  • Be available to attend ad-hoc shifts based on adverse weather
  • Safely and efficiently work within a team to remove snow using tractors
  • Have the ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Have previous experience operating plant of a similar size such as Gators, Multi-hogs, Tractors, Telescopic forklifts etc

Shift Times
This is ad-hoc emergency work. Your hours will vary and you must be flexible enough to work days, nights, weekdays and weekends.

Person Specification


  • A full, manual UK driving licence is essential
  • Plant experience such as tractor, telescopic forklift etc
  • Have a zero tolerance approach to health & safety
  • Good attention to detail and a meticulous approach to your work
  • Must be hardworking & reliable with an excellent work ethic
  • Have no unspent criminal convictions - If you are successful at interview, you will be required to apply for a Criminal Record Check (Disclosure Scotland)

Requirements


  • Due to the location of work being at the airport you must qualify. Therefore, you will need to be able to provide the following information:
  • 5-year checkable history (employment, self-employment, education or benefit claim)
  • Eligibility to work in UK (UK Passport, EU Passport, Non-EU Passport & Visa, Biometric Residence Permit, UK Birth Certificate & UK Driving Licence (British citizens only)
  • Provide proof of NI
  • Provide proof of address dated within the last 3mths (utility bill, bank statement, HMRC Letter)

This role will suit individuals in construction or agricultural trades such as groundworker, bricklayer, gardener, landscaper, plant operator, farmer etc.
Or those who are self-employed, semi-retired, in flexible zero-hour roles or those on shift work.
