Great Bear is a key player in ambient 3PL with an extensive depot network and some brand new, state of the artfacilities.Please make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.Great Bear is a successful business with ambitious growth aspirations and an opportunity has arisen fora confidentand enthusiastic Solutions Development Manager, specialising in transport designto join our entrepreneurial and successful team.Job Description You will lead business change as Great Bear migrates from the Autostore warehouse management system to Hardis, working with sites to communicate and embed the change.As Operational lead you will develop strong system and process understanding during the life of the WMS pilot, becoming the primary conduit from the business into IT delivery teams for new functionality\system changes required at site or Business Unit level. Providing the operational input to IT BAs for new requirements contributing to speeding up the delivery methodology and reducing cost of change.A key part of this role is to identify and manage areas of major operational process change having developed a deep understanding of the solution through direct involvement in solution design and testing. You will support colleagues during the transition to avoid impacting service to Customer and operational productivity returns to the expected levels.This role will work directly with colleagues from shop floor to General Manager and will require stakeholder management skills to support regular interactions with Customers and Senior Great Bear Leadership.Role Responsibilities:Document Standard Operating Procedures defining business process and system steps for Hardis WMSDefine UAT scenarios and complete user acceptance testing, logging defects where solution doesnt meet with defined requirementsCommunicate changes relating to implementation of Hardis WMS to all levels within Great BearIdentifying opportunities where system change can drive operational improvements, efficiencies or improved stock integrity, defining requirements to deliver system functional change that delivers the improvements identified.Identifying areas of change requiring specific focus to mitigate operational risk during system cutoverReview and verify the business case for system changes/enhancements.Liaise with IT BAs to define requirements, test scenarios and acceptance criteria for system changesSupport site colleagues as they adapt to using the new warehouse management system and associated process change.Oversee testing and quality assurance efforts to ensure the integrity and reliability of the implemented solutions.Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise implementation processes and enhance overall efficiency.Qualifications WMS Functional Knowledge: Understanding of warehouse management system(s) and the ability to develop an understanding of the functional capabilities of the Hardis WMS and how the system can optimise warehouse operations.Warehouse operational and system functions: Familiarity with operational best practices associated with warehouse operations in the industries Great Bear serve.Project Planning: Ability to create project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and task dependencies to support Sites through the changes driven by the implementation of Hardis WMSRisk Management: Identifies potential risks and develops strategies to mitigate them to ensure a smooth implementation process.Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders, including warehouse staff, IT teams, and upper managementTraining and Documentation: Support the development of training materials and deliver standard operating process documentation to ensure that end-users are proficient in using the new WMS.Process Analysis: Analyse current warehouse processes and identify areas for improvement or optimization through the implementation of the WMS.Problem-Solving: Quickly address and resolve issues that arise during the implementation process.Decision-Making: Make informed decisions on issues related to the implementation, considering both short-term and long-term impacts.Change Implementation: Implement strategies to manage and facilitate the transition from the old system to the new WMS.Support User Adoption: defining strategies to ensure that the end-users embrace and effectively use the new system.Post-Implementation Evaluation: Conduct evaluations after the implementation to identify areas to improve the implementation processAdditional Information Competitive salary25 days holidays plus 8 bank holidaysPrivate Health CareBonus schemeCompany car or car allowanceLife assuranceRetail discountsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a personable and growing business with plenty of opportunities for development.If you meet the criteria above and enjoy working in a fast paced organisation then click apply now to join our team!
