We are seeking a Work Placement Mentor for our client’s team. In this role, you will work directly with young people aged 18-25 who face barriers to learning, offering guidance and support as they explore self-employment opportunities. Your role will be crucial in helping them transition into successful, sustainable self-employed roles by creating and maintaining work placements, developing relationships with employers, and providing tailored support for each individual’s development.





Responsibilities:



·         Provide one-to-one support for young people with SEND, assisting them in their journey to self-employment.



·         Create and implement personalised learning plans, regularly assessing and adapting to each young person's needs and progress.



·         Assist young people with identifying, applying for, and securing work-based opportunities.



·         Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers, promoting the benefits of working with young people with SEND.



·         Coach and support employers to ensure they provide inclusive work environments.



·         Maintain accurate records and documentation to track individual progress and outcomes.



·         Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure young people receive appropriate support and guidance.



·         Promote safeguarding, equality, and diversity at all times.





Requirements:



·         Experience working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).



·         Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with young people, parents, employers, and colleagues.



·         Previous experience in job coaching or workplace learning is highly desirable.



·         Ability to build relationships with external stakeholders, including employers and partners.



·         Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.



·         Clear, concise report writing and presentation skills.



·         A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of young people.



·         Understanding and promotion of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all activities.
