PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Working as part of the Group Finance function, your role as a Working Capital Analyst will be to effectively manage the firm's Work in Progress (WIP) across each of the distinct groups within our firm. Liaising with various key stakeholders (fee earners, Partners, Commercial Finance Managers) you will support the Firm in maintaining good financial hygiene, by reducing lock up, aged WIP, aged disbursements and ensuring that invoices are raised correctly and in an appropriately timely fashion.THE TEAM The Working Capital team plays an integral part of the Group Finance function, often at the forefront of driving billing activity and supporting billing best practice, influencing key stakeholders within the various Groups globally. Bi-annually the Working Capital team is responsible for delivering a companywide audit, reviewing all matters within the business to understand the recoverability whilst managing WIP that cannot be retrieved. The results are analysed and shared with the CFO, CFM's, and other key Finance stakeholders. The Working Capital team also consistently work to improve and refine billing/audit processes that sit within the immediate team and wider fee earning Groups. With a track record of success for providing internal progression, this role offers the opportunity to continuously learn, adapt, and explore various areas of Finance, in a stimulating environment fostering individual growth and development.WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE As a Working Capital Analyst, you will: Drive improvement in WIP and lock up whilst maintaining billing quality and financial housekeeping within the Groups. Management of divisional WIP, and the status of ongoing matters. Conduct regular meetings with Partners, fee earners and PAs to review matter balances. Ensure that matters and clients are closed in a timely manner once completed. Consult with fee earners and partners to ensure client monies are dealt with. Develop innovative solutions to WIP management, identifying effective ways to improve efficiencies and reduce risk in collaboration with Commercial Finance Managers and Partners. Undertake specific firm wide projects including WIP audits. Identify and implement process improvements. Support the education of fee earners, partners and PAs in financial processes and procedures relating to engagement to the cash cycle. Undertake ad hoc projects to support the wider finance function.YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE Evidenced experience of supporting revenue management and control processes (i.E. credit control/legal cashiering etc.). Whilst experience gained within a professional services environment is desirable is not essential. The ability to work at pace, managing and prioritising conflicting deadlines. Promptly responding to queries, addressing concerns, and taking the initiative to anticipate additional needs. Experience building rapport and trust with stakeholders of all levels to enhance communication with the wider firm and create a supportive and productive work environment. Have strong attention to detail with the curiosity to identify, understand and drive imaginative solutions to challenges. Be able to work as part of a supportive and collegiate team as well as working using your own initiative. Take responsibility and accountability for all outputs. Have a strong working knowledge in IT systems, specifically across MS packages (Excel (essential), PowerPoint, Word, Outlook etc.)
