Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Carpentry Working Foreman to join our team in Eastbourne. This is a hands-on role, requiring strong leadership skills to manage a team of 6-8 carpenters while also actively working on-site. You will be responsible for overseeing both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry across residential and commercial projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship, site safety, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.


• Work on the tools, assisting with 1st and 2nd fix carpentry as required.


• Coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow on-site.


• Liaise with site managers, contractors, and clients to maintain smooth operations.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.


• Conduct quality checks and problem-solve any on-site issues.


• Manage materials, tools, and equipment to keep projects on track.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Working Foreman or Lead Carpenter.


• CSCS card (mandatory).


• Strong 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills (residential and commercial).


• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.


• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Full UK driving license (preferred but not essential).
