Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM Nuttall are currently involved in a major energy project based in Bridgwater, Somerset (Hinkley Point C), and require a Works Manager to assist them on what is one of UKs largest construction projects.

Your mission As a Works Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
Project professional image of self and the company.
Set personal example and promote best practise in safety, quality and environment, leading
meetings and promoting culture.
Manage site supervision, sub-contractors, supply chain and the workforce.
Management of all operational activities ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures and
legislation.
Build and develop the team to deliver all aspects of the project requirements.
Oversee the programme by monitoring and ensuring labour, plant and materials requirements are
sufficiently met and take accountability for delivery.
Ensure all operational records are up to date and in place.
Attend and contribute to safety, programme, commercial and business meetings as necessary.
Develop foremen and the workforce, e.g. identifying, monitoring and arranging training requirements to
ensure competency and reviewing performance.
Take an overview of the construction works and ensure that a professional image is maintained at all times.
Manage industrial relations issues.
Manage quality of the works to ensure client satisfaction.
Who are we looking for? The following are mandatory requirements:
Successful experience as a General Foreman.
In-depth knowledge of company policy and procedures, safety legislation and environment issues.
Demonstrate extensive experience in successfully managing all major civil engineering activities and
temporary works.
Experience in development and promotion of safe systems of work.
Demonstrate excellent people management skills and experience in team building.
Excellent communication skills, including communication with external stakeholders, e.g. public, client and
Joint Ventures.
Communicate with rest of site team including engineers, quantity surveyors, safety officers and the client to
ensure full understanding of information. Pass this knowledge / information onto foremen to ensure
understanding and their part in its delivery.
Compliant with Microsoft Office, ACD, BIM 360 Field and Bam Site and BAM Nuttall software E.G.
Connect & BAM People
Attendance of SMSTS, Attendance of Site Briefing Presenters course, Attendance of Annual Management
of Health & Safety and Your Safety Is My Safety.
Complete effective Performance & Development Reviews, and ensure all objectives are met.
Have an awareness of Lean.
Successful completion of the BAM Manager Programme.
NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management.
NEC course.
