Job Description

Job Title: Workshop Technician
Location: Guildford (Outskirts of Guildford)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (Depending on Experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out high-quality refurbishment and repair work on customer jobs, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.

  • Perform fault finding, diagnosis, and reverse engineering to develop efficient repair solutions.

  • \n
  • Conduct thorough checks on equipment/machinery, reporting any faults or issues.

  • \n
  • Assist in developing and improving standard test and repair procedures.

  • \n
  • Collaborate with the team to meet and exceed customer expectations, sharing knowledge and expertise.

  • \n
  • Support investigations and contribute electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering insights.

  • \n
  • Play an active role in optimising workshop performance and ensuring smooth operations.

  • \n

  • Engage in risk assessments and adhere to safe working systems.

Skills & Competencies:
    \n
  • Experience in torque tightening, mechanical fixings assembly, and crimping (both large and small connections).

  • \n
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • \n
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and make informed business decisions based on customer needs.

  • \n
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings and numeracy skills.

  • \n
  • Previous experience in electrical repairs or working within an electronics or Mechanical workshop environment.

  • \n
Preferred Qualifications:
    \n
  • Minimum electrical/electronic/engineering/Mechanical Engineer craft Level 3 ONC/NVQ (or equivalent).

  • \n
  • Additional qualifications in electromechanical engineering are highly advantageous.
