Key ResponsibilitiesLead the wind engineering and technology function, addressing business needs across development, construction, operations, and M&A opportunities.Develop and maintain management processes, guidance, and standards for wind and turbine engineering.Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of wind experts.Provide technical support for the design and implementation of pre-construction and construction assets.Share knowledge and experiences with other departments to enhance business capabilities.Advance turbine health monitoring, predictive maintenance, and diagnostics to optimize asset availability.Stay informed about turbine market trends and technology developments.Coordinate wind engineering and turbine-related issues, disseminating lessons learned across the business.Assist in the selection of wind turbines, managing consultants as needed.Act as the technical lead for turbine supply, service, and maintenance negotiations and procurement.Define standards for turbine inspection and commissioning, supporting project teams during these phases.Provide technical support during early project operations, including reviewing turbine performance and operational status.Conduct and review End of Warranty inspections and analyses.Address asset condition and performance issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.Serve as a center of expertise for wind asset integrity, including lifecycle management strategies.Lead technical due diligence for wind operational projects, managing advisers and collaborating with other teams.Assess risks and opportunities related to turbine engineering for potential acquisitions.Develop DEVEX, CAPEX, and OPEX assumptions.Attend site visits and factory acceptance tests as required.Key Requirements, Skills, and CompetenciesDegree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or a related discipline.Extensive experience with wind turbines in renewable power projects as an asset owner, technical adviser, turbine OEM, or service contractor.Team management experience is preferred.In-depth knowledge of wind turbines, subsystems, and models.Understanding of certification, suitability, and fatigue modeling.Experience negotiating turbine supply and service agreements.Proficiency with SCADA monitoring software and third-party data analytics tools for reliability and performance analysis.Experience with vibration-based condition monitoring.Ability to lead and participate in multi-disciplinary teams.Strong problem-solving skills and the creativity to implement solutions.Excellent communication skills for building relationships with colleagues and suppliers globally.Ability to work under pressure and deliver quality work to tight deadlines.Flexibility and openness to new ways of doing things.Strong drive for results and goal-setting.Strong project management skills.Fluency in English.Willingness to travel internationally.
