Yard Operative

Job Type: Full-time Permanent

Hours: 39 per/week, Monday to Friday�

Pay: �14.50 per/hour - Rising to �15.00 per/hour after probation (�29,406 per/annum rising to �30,420)

Holidays: 25 days + 8 bank holidays

Our client are a leading company within the construction industry, operating a busy depot responsible for the rental of construction equipment. Their�team is dedicated to providing top-notch service and maintaining efficient operations.

Role Overview:

As a Depot Assistant/Yardman, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Foreman and Depot Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations. This position is predominantly based in the depot, with occasional field-based work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Load and off-load equipment

- Check in returned equipment and complete necessary paperwork

- Inspect equipment for damage and report issues to office staff

- Complete daily defect reports on forklift trucks

- Assist Foreman and engineers in preparing equipment for hire

- Make deliveries using company vehicles, including towing equipment when needed

- Maintain a clean and tidy workplace

- Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times

Required Qualifications:

- Full UK driving license held for a minimum of 3 years

- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

- Strong communication skills at all levels

- Customer service-oriented mindset

- Ability to prioritize workload effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

- Forklift license (training provided if required)

- Experience towing trailers (training provided if required)
