Primary Teacher (Year 3)

Location: Primary School, S5 Area, Sheffield

Position Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Start Date: Week of 9th December (Handover available week of 2nd December)

Duration: Until at least February half-term, with the potential to extend

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher to take on a Year 3 teaching role at a warm and welcoming faith school in Sheffield. This full-time position is ideal for a qualified teacher with a strong background in Maths, Computing, and Online Safety, as these will be central responsibilities within the role.

Key Details:

* School Environment: This is a diverse, multi-cultural faith school with a high percentage of EAL (English as an Additional Language) pupils. The school is committed to celebrating all faiths and creating an inclusive environment for all students.

* Role Requirements:

* Full teaching duties, including lesson planning, marking, and participation in parent-teacher evenings and school meetings.

* Subject leadership in Maths, Computing, and Online Safety.

* A handover period will be provided during the week of 2nd December to ensure a smooth transition.

General Skills and Experience Required:

* Qualified Primary Teacher Status (QTS), with significant experience teaching at the primary level, ideally in Key Stage 2.

* Strong Classroom Management Skills: Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.

* Curriculum Knowledge: Solid understanding of the national curriculum, particularly in Maths and Computing, and the ability to deliver these subjects in an engaging way.

* Differentiated Instruction: Experience in adapting teaching to meet diverse learning needs, particularly for EAL students.

* Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Experience with parent-teacher communication and attendance at school meetings is essential.

* Assessment and Progress Tracking: Proficient in assessing student progress and using data to inform instruction and intervention strategies.

* Commitment to Professional Development: Passionate about staying current with educational best practices and actively engaging in opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Candidate Requirements:

* Must be an experienced Primary Teacher (not suitable for ECTs).

* Strong background in Maths, Computing, and Online Safety is essential.

* Passion for teaching in a multi-cultural and inclusive setting.
