Position: Year 4 Teaching Assistant (Full Time)
Location: Kirkby
Start Date: Thursday 10th October

About the Role:
An inclusive and supportive primary school in Kirkby is seeking a full-time Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join their team from Thursday 10th October. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant learning environment, providing essential support to students in a well-respected school known for its commitment to educational excellence and student development.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to assist in delivering high-quality lessons, supporting individual students, and contributing to the overall well-being of the pupils. The role will focus on fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment that aligns with the school's values and commitment to pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, effective lessons.
  • Working with small groups or individual students to provide targeted interventions and support.
  • Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
  • Supporting children with additional needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Supervising students during break times and other school activities.
  • Helping maintain an organised, safe, and stimulating learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in Key Stage 2 (KS2), is preferred.
  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude towards helping children learn and grow.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience or understanding of working with SEN students is beneficial.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
